Overview of Kindergarten

What your scholar should expect in their everyday schedule

Literacy and Math Block

In every session, our scholars participate in a 90 minute literacy block. During this hour, our scholars learn skills that develop knowledge in reading and writing. Math block is 60 minutes and comprised of whole group and small group direct instruction.

At various times of the session, a scholar can expect 1:1 times regarding the lesson or even a time for intervention. Kindergarten uses Texas approved Amplify for literacy skills and knowledge and Eureka Texas for math. Our scholars participate in district level testing are assessed three times per school year: September, February, and April.

Brain Breaks

Because we work hard, we play hard. Throughout the learning blocks, our teachers plan opportunities for our scholars to relax their brain muscles through physical activity. This may look like a mindful morning yoga or a surprise game of freeze dance. Scholar could even experience

Art and Science

Classes alternate between an art project and science course once per week.

Social and Emotional Learning

Gross Motor Activities

Soccer camps, tumbling, dance, and martial arts available by season. Physical education happens twice per week.
